Intro text (homepage):
The purpose of this tutorial is to introduce and explore surface data analysis using a vector data model: TIN (Triangular Irregular Network). Using the 3D Analyst extension, we will create a TIN surface. This surface can be rendered in ArcScene to show height values, slopes, and aspect. We will drape vector data over this surface including buildings that can be extruded above the terrain. Finally we will cover how to export your 3D scene to a CAD format. This tutorial was created as part of the workshop series offered for M.Arch students at GSAPP each semester.
